The Visual File Compare window is used to compare the contents of two text files and display the differences visually.  Unlike traditional file compare programs, the visual file compare aligns both files side by side, making it really easy to identify lines that were added to or deleted from one file, but not to/from the other.  Changes to lines also become very obvious.
